Traineeship FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

+

WHAT ASSIGNMENT WILL I WORK ON DURING THE SDG TRAINEESHIP?

You will work on a challenging assignment in a multidisciplinary team at an organisation/company/government agency that is already working on the SDGs, or wants to implement the SDGs. Based on your registration, we try to make a match with one project of a client.

+

How much time do I have to commit to?

Your team and yourself will work 8 hours a week on the SDG Traineeship on one fixed project day. In addition, there is an online SDG Talk regularly on Tuesday evenings (1.5-2 hours).

+

WHAT IF I UNEXPECTEDLY MISS A DAY?

We expect you to be present on the agreed project day (including supervision and training moments). In the event that you are unable to attend for a valid reason, you can resolve this in consultation with your supervisor and team.

+

IS THE SDG TRAINEESHIP ALSO AVAILABLE FOR NON-DUTCH-SPEAKERS?

Yes, the traineeship is available for Dutch- and English speaking trainees and clients.

+

WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE SDG TRAINEESHIP?

No. You voluntarily participate in the SDG Traineeship. You can, however, receive a (partial) reimbursement from your client for your travel expenses.

+

I WANT TO SIGN UP FOR THE SDG TRAINEESHIP BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT DAYS I'M AVAILABLE YET. IS THAT A PROBLEM?

That is not a problem, you can indicate when you register that you don't know yet. As soon as you know when you are available, send an email to traineeship@sdghouse.org.

+

WILL EVERYONE APPLY ALSO BE ACCEPTED?

No, unfortunately. For each client(s), we look at which applications best suit the project. It is therefore possible that your registration does not correspond to the projects of that edition.

+

I HAVE ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR THE SDG TRAINEESHIP BUT I WANT TO CHANGE MY AVAILABILITY. HOW DO I DO THAT?

Send an email to traineeship@sdghouse.org.

+

WHEN WILL I HEAR IF I CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE SDG TRAINEESHIP?

For the third edition, you will hear no later than 7 February 2022 whether you can participate and which project you have been placed in.

+

I'VE BEEN HIRED. CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT I WILL DO?

After you have been accepted and you have completed the confirmation, you will receive more information about the assignment from your supervisor.

COVID-19 AND MEASURES

The SDG Traineeship will hopefully take place mostly offline. Training courses and SDG Talks are always online, but we try to have as much/regular project work physically take place as possible - provided the guidelines of the RIVM can be guaranteed. Most clients offer a space for your team to work in, otherwise you might need/want to come to KIT or other SDG Houses. If you do not feel comfortable with being physically present, remote working always remains an option. For questions about our COVID-19 policy, please feel free to contact us.
