Become an SDG Trainee

During the SDG Traineeship, young people are given the opportunity to develop themselves as true SDG Professionals and to make a concrete contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the public and private sectors.

SDG Trainees work 1 day a week in a team on a project for 15 weeks to make an impact in a field within the SDGs. The SDG-related project that they work on will be designed by the clients themselves.

Naturally, trainees receive the right tools, knowledge, and guidance from us to call themselves true SDG Professionals. SDG Trainees become part of the solution and develop skills and knowledge to ensure that they know how to make an impact as future professionals.

Programme Details

  • Start date next edition: The sixt edition will start on September 4, 2023. You can apply below until July 30!
  • Duration: 15 weeks
  • Time: 8 hours per week on a fixed project day (including 6 training sessions of 2 hours) and in addition there is a regular (online) SDG Talk on Wednesday evenings of 1.5 to 2 hours. At the end of the programme, a big end-event takes place!
  • Guidance: Weekly 1 hour guidance from one of our sustainability consultants. In addition, the client supervises the trainees within the organisation.
  • Location: Online and offline. Trainings and SDG Talks take place online. We try to physically organize project work at the client's offices as much as possible.
  • Reimbursement: No reimbursement is available, except for a (partial) travel allowance by the client of the project.
  • Language: English and Dutch. In your application you can choose which language you prefer for your project. General communication will be in English.
  • Clients: Selected from various sectors and range from civil society organizations to government agencies and large companies.

Are you eligible?

You can register for the SDG Traineeship if you meet the following requirements:

  • You’re Dutch or English-speaking.
  • Are between the ages of 18 and 27.
  • HBO/University student or recent graduate
