Projectwork: Team Amberscript

Editie 4

Hello fellow Trainees! We are Annabel, Clara, Kyllian, and Michela, and we are Team Amberscript. First of all, congrats to everyone; we have already reached the second half of our SDG Traineeship! We hope good luck to all teams.

Amberscript is a Dutch company located in Amsterdam that provides top-notch subtitling and captioning for audio and video content. Besides providing these services, Amberscript is on a mission to increase the digital accessibility of public organisations, such as universities and municipalities. The company aims to do so by increasing awareness of the lack of digital accessibility and drawing attention to existing legislation at national and EU levels. Our goal as SDG Trainees is to understand how Amberscript could fulfil its mission in an effective and efficient manner. At the moment, we are working on the creation of a foundation for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, which will be able to lobby public organisations in EU countries to implement digital accessibility on their websites.

We decided to work both remotely and at Ambescript’s office on alternating weeks. We sure enjoy sleeping in a bit more on those Tuesdays we work remotely. However, going to the office in Amsterdam is always insightful. There, we have the chance to meet the client in person, get clarity on the project, and, most importantly, we can have lunch at our favourite Italian place (thanks Caldi e Freddi for your amazing sandwiches and tiramisù!)
